Weekday dinners

Cooking for me during the week is a wham-bam-i’m-outta-here kind of affair. Staying in the kitchen for hours on end is something I reserve for weekends and im in “the mood”. Therefore, as much as possible, I try to cook quick and easy meals. This was what we had for dinner the other day.

Oyster sauce minced pork with beans

The recipe is so easy:

Chop 1 onion and some garlic and chillies and fry. Throw minced pork in and fry till it’s brown. Add around 3 tablespoon of oyster sauce and cook and let the pork soak up the flavour. Throw in a can of baked beans and some frozen vegetables and stir. Serve with hot steamed rice. Tip:If you like it soupy, pour 1/2 cup of water and thicken with cornstarch.

I love how something so simple can be so hugely satisfying….
