Body con Dresses – Aqua Couture

aqua-couture1

I’ve only recently stumbled onto this label while I was surfing around. I absolutely love bodycon dresses. Therefore, when I came across this collection, I was elated! The one thing to note about this label is that all the designs are in solid colours…no florals…no prints…no stripes…nothing. Simply solid colours. Unless there is a collection out there that begs to differ, the dresses I’ve seen seem to follow this trend. But! that’s not saying that I don’t like it…coz I looove them! Some of them are so stretchy that they come in 1 size and fits anyone between the sizes 8-12.

Price:

You wouldn’t find anything cheaper than £70 unfortunately. This can go up to in the regions of £100+.

If you read my previous post about jumpsuits, you would know that I’m not too keen on them. But the Aqua Couture Purple Bandeau Jumpsuit (far right pic) is to die for! It’s simple yet elegant and I love the ultra-wide trousers at the bottom. It’s also in my favourite colour too. I’m also tempted by the Open Back Drape Vest Dress (3rd pic from the left).

Where to buy:

Their website doesn’t seem to have an extensive collection to shop for online. You could try asos.com or pop into one of their two stores; Victoria Quarters in Leeds or Savile St in Kingston Upon Hill.

New York & my DSLR

new-york

In March last year, J and I went to New York for 10 days. Besides the usual tourisy things we had to do (Empire State, Madison, huge meals, getting fat and drunk every night etc..), I went there aiming to get my very first DSLR.

I had been thinking about it for ages and back then, the exchange rate was working in our favour.

It was such a huge upfront investment and I’m the sort of person who gets quite nervous and thinks twice whenever a shopping bill comes to a three-digit-figure…But after months of contemplating and seeing how I saved a good £100 by getting it in NY, I took out my card and on the 6th day, officially owned my very own Nikon D40!

It was brilliant! Gone were the days I couldn’t work with my photos on a bigger scale because they were either just not sharp or distorted or worst still, ruined by flash. It’s a brilliant camera and worth every penny. Coming back home and reviewing the pictures we took, you could clearly see the difference in quality between the pics we took during the 1st 5 days with my Panasonic, compared to the pics taken on the last 5 days.

My only regret is not getting it sooner…
